（note: review is very introspective as I was writing this in my private journal）Bryan Cranston is a fascinating individual and his autobiography reads with his vocal intonation。 It reads as he talks。 Short sentences。 Internal dialogue。 Artistic liberties。 Emphasis。He has lived a very interesting life， one of those lives you hear about in magazines or reality tv shows。 It gives us a glimpse into the 70s/80s America， into how a pair of young whippersnappers decided that they can just ride on their （note: review is very introspective as I was writing this in my private journal）Bryan Cranston is a fascinating individual and his autobiography reads with his vocal intonation。 It reads as he talks。 Short sentences。 Internal dialogue。 Artistic liberties。 Emphasis。He has lived a very interesting life， one of those lives you hear about in magazines or reality tv shows。 It gives us a glimpse into the 70s/80s America， into how a pair of young whippersnappers decided that they can just ride on their motorcycles across the US， picking up small jobs in between。 It reads even more astounding when you realize where Bryan Cranston ended up。 He seems like a down to earth guy， but has so much experience under his belt， that it would be super intimidating to even talk to the guy。I knew him before he was mainstream， I knew him ever since Malcolm in the Middle， before he became Walter White。 Walter White was his rise to prominence， and he did a great job， but Malcolm was his rise into silliness。 I always wondered how an actor goes from a sitcom dad into this dramatic meth dealer。 I was always amazed at that transition and always rooted for him at any award show， not having seen Breaking Bad。 When I did finally get around to watching it， I saw why he deserved these accolades。 He was the star of the show！ All the stars aligned there， great script， great cast， great location。 Great transformation from protagonist to antagonist。This book is on easy read， and it gives us a glimpse into the real man behind that glorious bald head。 The extent to which he saw artistic prowess in everything。 The ways he got into acting and how he embodied it as a stage actor。 His whole journey， all his failures， all his successes。 He seems to be very passionate about his craft。 He describes acting like Nick Offerman describes bacon。 As an artiste putting the finishing strokes on his masterpiece。Wish there was more about Malcolm in the Middle， that was one of the transformative shows of my teenage years， would have been cool to have more insight into that world。 Overall， enjoyable read， definitely need some context of who he is， though， to fully appreciate it。 。。。more

Been a long time since I’ve read a ‘celebrity’ memoir but I finally watched and （duh） loved Breaking Bad。 While trawling through all the ephemera that I could now enjoy， I found this book and it felt like it would be an excellent summer/Xmas break read - and so it was。 Well written， interesting， honest。 Do recommend。

Audio。 Read by the author。 I really liked Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad， so wanted to check this one out。 I was not disappointed。 The format is fun， talking about all the different roles in his life。 He seems like a pretty neat guy and he has a great sense of humour。 He definitely had challenges in his life and he was able to overcome the cards stacked against him and build a successful career。

This was so/so。 Sometimes you like him and then sometimes i feel that he is very conceited--usually it is his way or the highway。 There were many funny moments。 Listened to it as an audiobook and was an easy listen。

I loved hearing about his experience of life and industry。 He definitely came up in a different time and had a wealth of different opportunities， but overall I valued his honesty about the life he is still figuring it how to live。 I hope this isn’t the last writing we see from him。
